The Bathsheba Family

The Bathsheba Family is a collectivist group of religious rejects who share the common goal of spreading the love of their god, Flarg. The Bathsheba family centers their efforts in spreading the word of their fictitious god by engaging in public conversation, city events, and public church services. The Bathsheba aims in collaborating RP and fun, bridging a connection between our eccentric and unique RP with entertaining scenarios for all types of RPers on the server.
In the pursuit of unique RP, the Bathsheba family strives for quality and lore-building RP that focuses on curating relationships and instilling a level of inclusivity for all players - a metaphoric lore that judgement should not be based off appearance, but rather of the merit of their character. If you know the Bathshebas, they are very odd, but they have great hearts.
The faction is currently led by Wizard Prophet Scoobie Emerson Lynch Bathsheba (Kazjii) who founded the family in early 2020.
Family and Religious Lore
The Bathsheba Family uses its lore to create an unending cycle of expansion on its foundation. Lore is constantly added and is always used in normal conversation, adding a layer of immersion to our characters when dealing with them. Continuity is an important element of a Bathsheba character as they are always operating on the same belief.
Before Los Santos - How Flarg Emerged
Scoobie and Shag, daunted and confused by the negotiations of life fell into a pit of addiction when they began to abuse various substances. Scoobie was in the midst of being onboarded to NASA's AstroPhysicX program where he would fulfill his life-long dreams to sit alongside CAPCOM while Shag was 12 credit hours away from an Aerospace Engineering Degree. With an addiction strung on dependency and shut-out mentalities, they would both lose the positions they had lined up.

Worried and lost, they would experiment with psychedelics as an attempt to find a deeper meaning in life. One night, Scoobie and Shag sat on a hill in Jebazoonah, North Dakota. Both of them consuming acid that was laced with a concoction of cocaine and Red Devil meth. As they sat upon that hill, a voice and figure would appear in the night sky. A conversation began between Scoobie, Shag, and the man in the sky. The man would introduce himself as Flarg, the conquerer of Hailbob67. Flarg would continue to explain to Scoobie and Shag that Hailbob was the afterlife for all believers of Flarg.
Scoobie and Shag inquire as to what believers of Flarg stand for and what they believe in. Flarg would spew his wisdome and mention that they are missionaries on the Earth Planetary Solar Form (EPSF) and reel in new believers so that one day the religion of Flarg would be the dominant religion. Once every person on Earth is a believer and prays at the same time. Flarg will consume Earth and merge it to the heavenly cosmos of Hailbob67.
After consideration, Scoobie and Shag would agree to this mission, agreeing to its terms and conditions. So moved by this heavenly figure in the sky, they were bounded by destiny to fulfill this prophecy. The day after this religious encounter, Scoobie and Shag began to brainstorm how they could most optimally attack this mission. They landed on a busting city on the West Coast, Los Santos. A place with no dominant religion and labeled as America's "Trashiest Mixing Pot" - catching the name with the immense diversity of crime, legal battles, high poverty rate, and increasing gang violence. This is where Scoobie and Shag think they will win Flargs trust.
Building a Community - The Story of Growing Flarg

When starting the faction, the server was starting to see the population from the COVID epidemic. Server population was booming and there was large opportunities to create something that people would find entertaining. Scoobie and Shag (Aieos) would emerge as originally a crack-head duo that would just act stupid around others for a quick laugh. It very soon became a stark realization that we were creating lore that people loved, enough for people to make alternative characters to join the family.
As we grew and transitioned into a more serious "delusionally religious" family, we would host pop-up church sessions in a small shed in Sandy Shores. People would scatter to the random field we were in and would radio their friends to come - soon we would have to move outside of the shed and host the service outside since so many people showed up. The support would continue to grow in the server where the Bathshebas became a sheltered family that people would come to love. Innocently funny shenanigans that people could laugh with. At this point in the lore, the family was known by a large part of the server - people we did not know would say "oh I have heard of you guys before".

The family would start pandering for donations to start funding an actual church building - over the span of 2 months, the family raised $3,800,000 to buy the Route 68 church where they would be able to do larger and greater services. Another $1,800,000 was raised so Lugnut Bathsheba could build the inside which couldn't have been more beautiful.
The church would become a solemn gathering ground for all friends and family. The church would accelerate the growth and notoriety of the family as they were well known and liked amongst the server. Raising money would be less of an issue than it was prior and getting additional opportunities came less taxing as we built internal governmental connections. This would be the catalyst to go into a more business-centric frame of mind - they would start funding efforts for a theatre.
The main reason we wanted to obtain a theatre was to provide large events to the server that were orchestrated from the back-end. We wanted to provide comedy shows, plays, and other events where you can just sit and enjoy. An aim at luxurious entertainment from a group of characters you would never expect it. The issue would stem with getting the funds for an enormous project like this. Originally quoted for $5,800,000 plus an estimated $1,700,000 for building costs - we were able to complete the entire project (property + building costs) for $4,240,000 which was able to be fully funded by donors.

This property catapulted the capabilities for event RP and our religious agenda since we know own property and rights in the city, moving our lore from only being focused in the Sandy Shores area to a wider range in the city. We would work with amazing talents and personalities outside of the family like Ally Jean and various members in the government like Louisse LangLittle (Lewis Langley) and Angie Whitewhore (Emily Whitehorse).
At the end of the day, looking at where we started and where we have come, there is no other gratitude to give outside of the people who make-up this faction and the people who genuinely RP with us. This faction takes a level of commitment to the character and the lore, as we are only focused on upholding our lore at all times. The people who have stayed and help develop this faction and support the aim at providing fun to the server have the greatest appreciation in my heart!
Clothing and Vehicle Lore
The Bathshebas are known for two things: their cone hats that say "Dunce" and their alien dune buggies. While they look funny on the outside, both of these common items for our characters provide a large depth of story and lore to the Bathsheba family.

The communicator cones are made out of paper and foil, designed to concentrate radio frequencies so Flarg can talk to each and any Bathsheba member. While this obviously is not real, the Bathshebas believe that they cannot go without their communication devices or else they risk being left on Earth if Flarg ever calls them home.
You will commonly see Bathshebas handing out these devices to people they hang around with since they see it as a marketing tactic for people to come to their church and to their events. While they provide lore, it also provides a unique style and look to our characters and adds on to their "cooky" aura they give off.

The Communicator Vehicles you see the Bathshebas driving are lore vehicles that also allow us to communicate with Flarg, but also has a communicator probe that blasts radio frequencies as we drive (the horn sounds like a garbled radio frequency). The Bathshebas in-character believe this truly, but all it does is pose an annoying noise to the public.
The Communicator Vehicle has a lot of true lore in terms that it is RPly built by the Bathshebas. A communicator is used as a privilege and a religious sentiment to drive, so family members who drive it must take great care of the vehicle. Given that it is hand built, it is important to note that there are IC blueprints we have created that outlines the use of the car and what each part is named, shown off to the right.
There are currently 23 communicator vehicles in our fleet (owned by various members in the faction) and offer homage to Flarg and the mission the family tries to pursue each and everyday. Similarly to the communicator cones, the communicator vehicles are unique looking and offer the faction a "cooky" appearance, something we try hard to maintain and act out.
Since these puppies only reach ~140 kph, they are shelved until we have a large faction day or when we plan to just roll around interacting with the community. They aren't super practical if you are running back and forth to places but they still play a large part in our lore and ongoing story.
Donations, Sponsoring Advisors, and Financial Health
Apart of the family's structure to expand and grow, they heavily rely on donations from supporters in the community. The Bathshebas earn capital through independent streams such as: providing a fortune telling, doing dances for cash, or predicting the future for the donator. As you can imagine, the Bathshebas take a salesman-like approach to getting prospects in order to generate the most amount of money as possible.
But what works the best is to simply just ask for donations. People will give some here and some there, but occasionally the family hits it big with large jackpots of generous donors. To honor this, the Bathshebas have created an internal title for large donors to bare. For anyone who donates more than $250,000 in cash or equivalent assets, they receive the honorary title as Sponsoring Advisor which grants them special privileges in services and events. Our current donor list is as follows:

- Emily Whitehorse
- Julia Whitehorse
- Kourtney LaFleur
- Ally Jean
- Jimmithy Jemima
- Melanie Toretto
- Chad Rapkov
- Ali Valentine
- Lewis Langley
- Grant Adams
- Hope Kant
- Wisteria Moon
- Jeremy Williams
- Lisa Winter
- Claire Allen
- Melody Frey
There are many more who have donated in gracious amounts, but these are our sponsored advisors we care about so very deeply. The RP of donation-collecting for the family has been built up to be more-and-more complex as our timeline goes on. Before we would panhandle and looking for anything we could get, but as projects get larger and financial responsibilities get heavier, the game of getting donations has to start getting creative.
Events held at the church and the theatre allow for great cash flow to increase the IC ability to reach our lore. While we understand that the lore's endgame for everyone to be believers will never be met, our characters are so deranged that they only see positives in opportunities. Another metaphorical connection we like to make in our RP, to never give up even when things seem improbable.
The Bathsheba Family's Facilities and Businesses

The Bathsheba Family has many facilities that they use to conduct their religious and business operations. Their main property, the Route 68 Bathsheba Church, is their largest church facility that has hosted many church services and community meetings. A sacred place to the family, this building also houses their own living quarters, podcast studio, and nightclub within its walls. Outside, you will find momentous tombstones for Scrappy (Ronnie's deceased cat) and Mumma G (Wolfgangs deceased mother) - two very important things to the family and their story.
The Bathsheba's also own and operate a large number of commercial businesses where they use their Galaxy Theatre for the operational needs of the businesses they run. The theatre is a city staple that has hosted the servers largest events and is an iconic work of art.
An assortment of the businesses operated within the family are done within the theatre and church; however, our rap-star Tyquan Bathsheba uses the music studio connected to the theatre to run our music label, Flarg Records, where he produces albums and does public viewings of his current works.
Outside of the church, theatre, and studio - Elizabeth Honk-Bathsheba runs a community center right across the street where she welcomes community members to come in and indulge in free use of exercise equipment and the facilities inside.
