Recording Software

Installation

  1. Navigate to https://obsproject.com/download
  2. Download the installer for Windows 10/11
  3. Install the software and Launch OBS Studio.
  4. Drag Audio Mixer to the right side of the preview window (optional).

Basic Setup

  1. Launch RAGEMP and log in to ECRP.
  2. Rename the Scene to RAGEMP
  3. Add the following three Sources one at a time:
    1. Application Audio Capture (BETA)
      1. Name "RAGE Audio Capture"
      2. Select "[GTA5_Enchanced.exe]: RAGE Multiplayer" for "Window:" (If on legacy, select the legacy executable).
      3. Select "Match title, otherwise find window of same executable" for "Window Match Priority".
    2. Audio Input Capture
      1. Name "RAGE Mic Capture"
      2. Select your microphone for "Device"
      3. Keep "Use Device Timestamps" unchecked.
    3. Game Capture
      1. Name "RAGE Video Capture"
      2. Select "Capture specific window" for "Mode"
      3. Select "[GTA5_Enchanced.exe]: RAGE Multiplayer" for "Window"
      4. Select "Match title, otherwise find window of same executable" for "Window Match Priority".
      5. Leave the rest untouched.

Settings

Output

  • Select "Advanced" for "Output Mode" at the top.
  • Select Recording tab.

Recording Settings:

  • Recording Path: Choose a folder that is easy to find and has decent storage space.
  • Recording Format: Matroska Video (.mkv) or Hybrid MP4 (.mp4)
  • Video Encoder: "AMD HW AV1" or "AMD HW H.265 (HEVC)" | "NVIDIA NVENC AV1" or "NVIDIA NVENC HEVC"
  • Audio Encoder: FFmpeg FLAC (16-bit)
  • Audio Track: 1
  • Rescale Output: Disabled
  • Leave "Custom Muxer Settings" empty.
  • Keep "Automatic File Splitting" unchecked.

Encoder Settings:

  • Rate Control: CQP
  • CQ Level: 22
  • Keyframe Interval: 2 s
  • Preset: High Quality
  • Profile: main
  • Leave "Pre-Analysis" unchecked.
  • Max B-frames: 2
  • Leave "AMF/FFmpeg Options" empty.

Replay Buffer

Check "Enable Replay Buffer"

Maximum Replay Time: 600 s (10 minutes, I personally do 900 for 15 minutes)

Maximum Memory: Depends on your RAM. I allocated 8GB out of my 32GB. If you have 16GB, maybe put 4GB. Per file if you're only doing 10-15 min clips at CQ 22 it shouldn't be more than that.
