Mining
Mining & Jewelry Crafting
The Mining update introduces a complete resource gathering and crafting system. Mine ores, smelt ingots, cut gemstones, and craft personalized jewelry — all tied to a new Mining skill with meaningful progression.
Mining
Getting Started
To begin mining, purchase a Pickaxe from any General Store. Mining areas are marked on your map — head to one and look for ore deposits (rock formations). Approach a deposit and interact with it to start mining.
Mining takes time — your character will play an animation while working. Once finished, the ore is added to your inventory. Each deposit contains a limited amount of ore. Once depleted, the deposit will regenerate after some time.
Ore Types
Ores are organized into tiers. Higher-tier ores require a higher Mining skill level to extract.
| Tier | Ores | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Tier 1 | Stone, Coal, Iron, Salt | Available from the start |
| Tier 2 | Copper, Tin, Lead | Requires some Mining experience |
| Tier 3 | Bauxite, Silver, Sulphur | Mid-level miners |
| Tier 4 | Gold, Quartz, Nefrite | Experienced miners |
| Tier 5 | Garnet, Emerald, Sapphire | Gemstones — high level required |
| Tier 6 | Ruby, Diamond, Crystal | Rare gemstones — expert miners only |
Higher-tier ores take longer to mine but are significantly more valuable.
Selling Raw Ore
You can sell raw ore and ingots at Ore Dropoff points. Approach the dropoff and press E to view current prices for all ore and ingot types, then drop items from your inventory to sell them.
Gemstones cannot be sold at ore dropoffs — they must be sold at a Pawn Shop instead.
Gold Panning
Gold Panning is an alternative way to gather resources. Purchase a Gold Pan from a General Store, then head to a designated panning spot near water.
Use the Gold Pan from your inventory to begin. You'll need to complete a quick-time action game — hitting the right timing to succeed. Your Mining skill affects the size of the success window, making it easier as you level up.
Panning Rewards
Panning can yield a variety of rewards:
- Gold Flakes — small but common finds
- Gold Nuggets — less common, more valuable
- Raw Gemstones — rare finds, including both common and legendary gems
Higher Mining skill levels reduce your chance of finding nothing and increase your chance of finding gems. Gold Flakes and Nuggets can later be refined into Gold Ingots at a smelter.
Smelting
Processing Stations (smelters) are marked on your map. At a smelter, you can convert raw ore into refined Ingots. Smelting requires the raw ore and usually some Coal as fuel.
Available Ingots
| Ingot | Source |
|---|---|
| Iron Ingot | Iron Ore |
| Copper Ingot | Copper Ore |
| Tin Ingot | Tin Ore |
| Lead Ingot | Lead Ore |
| Aluminum Ingot | Bauxite Ore |
| Silver Ingot | Silver Ore |
| Gold Ingot | Gold Ore |
Alloys
At higher Mining skill levels, you can combine ingots to create alloys:
- Bronze Ingot — crafted from Copper and Tin Ingots
- Steel Ingot — crafted from Iron Ingots
- Electrum Ingot — crafted from Gold and Silver Ingots
Panning Materials
Gold Flakes can be consolidated into Gold Nuggets, and Gold Nuggets can be smelted into Gold Ingots — even at low Mining levels.
Smelting items are queued and processed one at a time. Your Mining skill level affects smelting speed. Completed smelting awards Mining experience.
Gem Cutting
At a Jewelry Workbench, raw gemstones can be cut into polished versions. Cut gems are more valuable than raw gems and are required for crafting gem-studded jewelry.
Six gem types can be cut:
- Common gems: Garnet, Emerald, Sapphire
- Legendary gems: Ruby, Diamond, Crystal
Each gem type has its own Mining level requirement, with legendary gems requiring significantly higher levels.
Jewelry Crafting
At a Jewelry Workbench, you can craft wearable jewelry from ingots and optionally set them with cut gems.
Jewelry Types
Five types of jewelry can be crafted, each requiring a different amount of ingots:
- Earrings
- Bracelet
- Chain
- Pendant
- Necklace
Metals
Jewelry can be crafted from three metals, each unlocked at different Mining levels:
- Silver — entry-level jewelry metal
- Gold — mid-tier, requires higher Mining skill
- Electrum — top-tier alloy, requires the highest Mining skill for jewelry
Gem-Studded Jewelry
Any piece of jewelry can optionally be set with a cut gemstone, creating a unique gem-studded piece. For example, you could craft a Gold Necklace with Diamond or Silver Earrings with Emerald. Gem-studded pieces are more valuable and take longer to craft.
Inscriptions
When crafting jewelry, you can add a personal inscription — a custom text engraved onto the piece. Other players can see your inscription when they examine the jewelry. This allows you to create truly one-of-a-kind gifts and keepsakes.
Wearing Jewelry
Crafted jewelry is wearable:
- Chains, Pendants, and Necklaces are worn as accessories
- Bracelets go on the wrist
- Earrings are worn on the ears
Jewelry appearance varies between male and female characters.
Mining Skill
Mining is a new skill visible in your Level Menu alongside other skills. As you perform mining-related activities, you earn experience and level up.
How to Earn Experience
- Mining ore
- Smelting ingots
- Cutting gemstones
- Crafting jewelry
- Gold panning
What Leveling Unlocks
As your Mining skill increases, you gain access to:
- Higher-tier ores — better resources at milestone levels
- Faster mining speed — experienced miners work quicker
- Increased ore yield — chance to get bonus ore per swing
- Smelting recipes — unlock new ingots and alloys
- Gem cutting — unlock the ability to cut different gem types
- Jewelry crafting — unlock new metals and jewelry types
- Better panning results — higher chance of rare finds, larger success window
Your progression follows a clear path from basic ore mining all the way to crafting legendary gem-studded jewelry with personal inscriptions.
