The Los Santos Emergency Medical Services (LSEMS) is focused on treating injured patients in the city, both in the field and in the office.

In Character History

The Los Santos Emergency Medical Services was founded in 2017 by the first chief, Joey Kavinskie. There have been a total of 16 different chiefs since LSEMS opened, leading up to the current chief Alex Mpache.

Trainees for LSEMS. Their job is to learn the policies and functions of LSEMS before getting promoted to EMT-B.             

Divisions

The Los Santos Emergency Medical Services has a total of 11 different divisions, including:

  • Internal Affairs
- Internal Affairs (IA) is responsible for taking internal and civilian reports on medics in the department. They handle cases of malpractice, unprofessionalism, and other wrongdoings.
  • Field Training
- Field Training (FTD) is a division that handles all the training of new EMRs and reinstatees. Their job is to prepare new members of the department for their job as an EMT.
  • Air & Rescue
- Air and Rescue (A&R) was created to ensure an easier and quicker response to calls in tough areas. Being fully trained in this division allows EMTs to drive the Kamacho and fly the Maverick and Swift to calls in hard-to-reach places.
  • Fire & Rescue
- Fire and Rescue (F&R) trains firefighters to be able to handle calls above a normal EMTs training level, including small fires, house fires, and scenes with chemicals or drugs.
  • Lifeguard
- Lifeguard is designed to give EMTs a way to patrol the seas and lakes of the city safely. It trains them in water rescue and ALS for water-related injuries.
  • Crisis Response Unit
- The Crisis Response Unit (CRU) is responsible for handling patients experiencing mental health issues and more. Calls regarding suicide and general 1-on-1s are handled by them.
  • Advanced Medicine Unit
- The Advanced Medicine Unit (AMU) is trained to perform advanced treatments, such as surgeries, appointments, and check-ups. They add an extra layer of RP to the department.
  • Forensics
- Forensics is dedicated to helping patients and other departments with tasks such as matching blood up to a person, comparing DNA samples, and assisting with PD/SD investigations.
  • Recruitment and Employment
- Recruitment and Employment (RED) is the first division new applicants will meet in LSEMS. They are responsible for conducting interviews, reviewing applications, and helping new EMRs sign their employment contracts.
  • Public Relations
- Public Relations (PR) is the division that is responsible for maintaining the LSEMS's reputation through community outreach events. They host various events to connect LSEMS with the community.
  • Basic Life Support
- Basic Life Support Division (BLS) ensures members of the community are trained in basic medical treatments to ensure the city has people who are qualified to help, even when EMTs are not available at the time.
