About the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department

The Los Santos County Sheriff's Department was created in July 2019 in response to the growing demand for a second law enforcement faction. Founded by John Norman/Samuel Osborn and his hand-picked team, which included John Wallace (Flow), Harry Payne (Redhot), Robert Reynolds (Serthon), James Jurrick (Lewis), and more, the foundation of today's Sheriff's Department was laid.

Initially, the faction only offered basic police services roleplay. However, over the years, it has continuously evolved and restructured to allow for new and interesting roleplay opportunities. In April 2020, we opened the Detention and Parole Bureau to introduce a different type of roleplay for deputies, civilians, and criminals alike. Most recently, in January 2022, we established the Sheriff's Investigations Bureau, which now offers detective-type roleplay to faction members.

While the LSSD has primarily taken inspiration from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, we have also explored and incorporated elements from a wide variety of law enforcement agencies across the US to shape our faction. Our continuous changes now primarily revolve around the server's IC environment.

As a faction, the LSSD strives for realism while also pushing for fun. This balance has helped us build strong camaraderie among our members, making us extremely welcoming to new recruits. Although SD members may be yelled at in character by supervisors from time to time, it's something we laugh about together while communicating on Discord and/or TeamSpeak. We all understand that we're playing a role, and that's what we aim to teach new members who join our faction.
